Hüttenwanderung in Österreich am Wilden Kaiser - 4-day Hut to Hut Adventure

Majestic, rugged, unbelievably vast: This is the mountain range of the Wild Kaiser, a name which translates to the ‘Wild Emperor’ — a name these mountains wear like a well-fitting crown. Pictures of their precipitous limestone faces and deep canyons have been the stuff of Alpinists’ dreams for centuries. Here, in these epic mountains, one of the best multi-day hiking trails in the Alps have their starting point: The 4-day hut hike on the sunny south face of the Kaiser. The trail will give you the opportunity to dive deep into the Emperor’s mystic realms. And as you go, you’ll be able to sample the famed hospitality of the people who call this region home. This event includes 3 nights in a hut / camping site. The first day we will hike to a hut and spend the night there. So bring fresh clothes, towel etc. The second and third nights we will go back to the camping site. Thursday October 3: We will meet at Heidelberg Station at 6:00 AM and head to Parkplatz Hüttling and park our cars there. We will need to coordinate. One of the drivers needs to leave his car at the end point in Schaffau am Wilden Kaiser. Once we get there he needs to take the drivers back to Parkplatz Hüttling who then have to go back to Scheffau (12 km) in order to pick up their passengers. In case I’m the only driver we will take the bus back to Going from Scheffau and walk up to our car.
