Nature escape far out - the Azores

Hey community, I'm planning a trip to the beautiful islands of Azores. I'll depart from Porto (airport OPO) on september 30th to Sao Miguel, (airport PDL). Concerning the variety of different islands with different landscapes I'd like to discover 2-3 islands in the upcoming 14 days by rental car, plane and boat . Portugals highest mountain "Ponta do Pico", hot springs on Sao Miguel or floral impressions on the island of Flores are just a selection of worth visiting places. I do really like to hike and dive into the nature. I'm a sporty guy and no hike feels like to be too challenging ;) But relaxing and taking our times is also really important to me. I'm into deep conversations, joking around and just enjoying silence. Latest on October 13th I'll catch a flight to Madeira to meet my brother. Till then I'll be quite flexible with my time and open for suggestions concerning accommodation and activities. So far I've been a trip leader for three times in the US and Canada and without exception met lovely people. The stated costs include flights between the islands, ferry transportation, rental car and a mix of different accommodations and dining options.
